Friday August 5, 2011. one of the worst nights of my life. you know that saying "you don't know what you've got til it's gone"? well i now understand the full truth to that. my best best friend jakob fell 45 feet while hiking up af canyon that night. the phone call from his brother telling me that jake was okay but he was in the er, was like one of those nightmares that you have. right as i hung up the phone i just stood there speechless. what are you suppose to do when you find out that your friend almost died? nobody was home. my whole family was in park city and i had to work that night so all my friends had already made their plans. it was 11:41 when i found out the news and from that point on led into a long long night. the only thing i knew to do was call zac. Jake's best friend and one of my really close friends as well. he had no idea and right as i told him he said he was coming to pick me up and we were going to see him. Zac and I were at the hospital til 3 am. long night? i'd say so. Jake had surgery the next morning and it all went well :) he's doing so good! for what happened to him. As i was with him yesterday in the hospital his grandpa told a story of his best friend going over the canyon in his car and dying. Jakob started to cry. From that point on I realized how blessed I am in my life. you never ever know what is going to happen or when it's going to happen and it can change quick. so word of advice my friends. never let a second pass by that you're going to regret. tell the people that you love that you love them. never give up on an opportunity to do something for someone else and love unconditionally.
